Amazing narration, awesome personality, and great great story telling. My kiddos and I love this show, especially being born and raised in Montana as well as my kids we look forward to this show. Just like the new Saturday morning cartoons back in the day, it’s a big deal to us. Keep up the great work sir!!!!

Yes to the West!
I just recently found this Podcast. I love history about the old West I'm in Southern California, Los Angeles. But have a lot of people back in Arizona so this is pure gold to me. I'm gonna have to binge listen!!

Love this show
High Josh. I really enjoy this podcast. I moved to Oklahoma 4 years ago and a lot of stories you tell I hear towns that are really close to me. Like a Anadarko. It’s very eye-opening to me out of history that happened here in Oklahoma. Thank you for the work you do. I love listening to the show. I did hear you poke fun at Oklahoma but I just recently heard in one of your podcast that you’re from Texas so that makes sense lol I don’t have much of a leg to stand on as I am from Southern California.

I found this podcast on YouTube and had to come here for the full library. Josh is a great talent with a passion for the subject and a great sense of humor to boot. If you don't find this entertaining, I'm not sure we can be friends.

Mildly Disappointed
Only dissatisfaction or disappointment you will have with this podcast is when you find out the host is named Josh and not Danny McBride. In fact, after listening to 10 or so stories I developed an untapped admiration for Danny’s love for Wild West history in addition to his Oscar worthy performances. When that bubble popped I kept that admiration for Josh and forgot about Ol’ Kenny Powers.
In all seriousness Josh does an excellent job of researching his stories and keeping the a clear line between the tall tales and fact. The stories about these characters are mostly unknown to me, except the big names of course. Josh does a great job of introducing the character’s background and high points of his life, leaving the listener so interested that I have found myself researching these people myself. I would rate this podcast with more stars if I could.

A Hog-Killin’ Time
Josh puts a lot of research into the shows and presents the material in a fun way. Sometimes he may be a little vulgar or just airing his lungs a bit depending upon your sense of humor. I’ve listened since the good old days of bloody beaver and will until the day the show bites the dust or he decides to shut his cockholster up about the Old West!

I love it
I found WWE on YouTube. For a second I almost turned it off as most things in YT with static pictures are things you either have to read or just plain bad. Man am I let it play. I’ll often let a YT video plan in the background while I’m working and this channel quickly became my go-to. I love the matter of fact reporting if facts along with personal opinion thrown in. I also love the often dark humor.
I eventually changed to the podcast to save battery life, and since I have a little time off I can use my earbuds and not be seen as the antisocial person that I basically am. I’ve never signed on for a Patreon account, but this will be my first to get the old content. Another thing that’s not worthy is that when he says to shoot him an email, he will get back to you.
Keep it up Josh. I love the podcast. Keep hating on those Okies too. The best thing to come out of Oklahoma is I35. Just kidding. I love southeast Oklahoma.. Some of the most beautiful country you’ll ever see.

Love this show! Great storyteller!
This is a great show! It is interesting, entertaining, informative and sometimes spit laugh funny…careful drinking hot liquids during the podcast. Hot coffee out your nose is no joke!

Sincere and balanced
Josh uses humor and compassion to balance the heady and often unsettling topics that are at the heart of why we study history. The stories and characters are brought to life with great story telling and humor that often reaches the absurd, but he does not shy away from realities of the times and approaches sensitive subjects with reverence instead of skipping over or white washing inconvenient truths.

Just right for the subjects
Very good history presentation. The host has a great style of telling this Western history. Yes, there is some salty language, but that doesn’t seem to get in the way. Have a listen!

The Dewey Beard episode is so well written and well told. I’ve listened to it a few times this week and immediately downloaded several more to get through an upcoming Texas road trip.
